Thank you for supporting Wide Island Studio. We truly appreciate every order, class registration, and opportunity to share Ikebana with our community.
Because many of our offerings involve advance preparation, fresh floral materials, and carefully sourced inventory, we ask that you review the following refund and return policies before making a purchase or registering for a class. Our goal is always to provide a thoughtful experience and to handle any issues with fairness, care, and clear communication.
All cancellation, refund, and transfer requests must be made in writing by email to connect@wideislandstudio.com.
Class Registration Cancellations
Material-Included Workshops (In Person)
This section applies to workshops and events where flowers, containers, tools, or other materials are provided by Wide Island Studio as part of the registration fee. Due to seasonal availability, materials may be substituted with items of equal value and quality.
Refunds & Cancellations
A full refund is available for cancellations at least 7 days before the scheduled event date.
Cancellations made between 7 days and 48 hours before the event may be eligible for:
- a partial refund of up to 50% (at the discretion of Wide Island Studio based on timing and preparation already completed)
- studio credit toward a future class
Because materials are purchased and prepared in advance, cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are non-refundable.
Refunds or credits are not available after a class or workshop has taken place, including in cases of no-shows.
Rescheduling
Registrations may be transferred to another date of the same workshop when:
- the request is made at least 7 days before the original workshop date, and
- space is available in the requested session
Rescheduling requests made after the original workshop date has passed cannot be accommodated.
Transferring Your Registration
If you would like to gift or transfer your registration to another person, please contact us at least 48 hours before the event with the recipient’s name and contact information.
After this point, registrations cannot be changed or transferred.
Registration Deadline
Registration for material-included workshops closes 48 hours before the event to allow adequate time for floral and material preparation.
Instructor or Emergency Cancellations
If a workshop must be cancelled due to instructor illness, severe weather, low enrollment, venue issues, or other unforeseen circumstances, participants will be offered their choice of either:
- a full refund, or
- the option to transfer to a future class date, only if it is available.
Ongoing Study Classes (Online & In Person)
This section applies to recurring classes or study sessions where students are generally responsible for bringing their own materials.
Because class sizes are intentionally kept small to support an attentive and supportive learning environment, reserved spaces are important even when materials are not provided.
Attendance & Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a reserved class, please provide notice in writing as early as possible so the space may be offered to another student.
Cancellations made at least 24 hours before class will:
- retain the class credit, or
- allow rescheduling to another eligible session
Cancellations made within 24 hours of class, as well as no-shows, will result in the forfeiture of that class reservation or class credit. A no-show is defined as failure to attend without prior written notice.
Exceptions may be considered in cases of illness or emergency at the discretion of Wide Island Studio.
Waitlists
If a class is full, students may request to be added to a waitlist. Openings will be offered in the order requests are received.
Class Passes (In Person Only)
Class passes are intended to provide flexible access to ongoing study classes within a designated period of time.
Validity Period
Class passes are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated.
Unused class credits expire after the validity period and do not roll over. Expired credits are not eligible for extension, refund, or transfer.
Refunds
Class passes are:
- non-refundable, and
- non-transferable unless otherwise approved by Wide Island Studio
Reserving Classes
Students using class passes must reserve their spot in advance for each class they plan to attend.
Because class size is limited, reservations are required even when using prepaid credits.
Late Cancellations & No-Shows
Reservations cancelled at least 24 hours before class will retain the class credit. Rescheduling to another eligible session is available subject to availability and must be completed within the validity period of the class pass.
Reservations cancelled within 24 hours of class, as well as no-shows, will result in the forfeiture of one class credit from the pass. A no-show is defined as failure to attend without prior written notice. Exceptions may be considered in cases of illness or emergency at the discretion of Wide Island Studio.
Digital Products & Online Content
Due to the nature of digital products and online educational materials, downloadable content, prerecorded classes, and other digital offerings are non-refundable once access has been granted or materials have been delivered.
Shop Policy for Physical Products
The following policy applies to physical product purchases made through the Wide Island Studio online shop.
Due to the nature of our inventory, all physical products sold online are considered final. Returns, exchanges, or refunds are not accepted for products sold in good faith and delivered in good condition. We encourage you to review your selections carefully before completing your purchase.
Damaged Shipments
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at connect@wideislandstudio.com.
Please include:
- your order number
- photographs of the damaged item
- photographs of the packaging and shipping label
In cases of damaged, defective, or incorrect items, we will review the issue and arrange a replacement when appropriate. If a replacement is not available, a store credit or refund may be issued. Items damaged due to improper use or handling after delivery are not eligible for replacement or refund.
Lost or Stolen Packages
Once a package has been marked as delivered by the shipping carrier, Wide Island Studio is not responsible for lost or stolen packages.
However, if an issue arises during transit, please reach out and we will do our best to assist with the carrier claim process where appropriate.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds are typically processed to the original payment method within 7 business days after approval or receipt of returned items where applicable.
Processing times may vary depending on your financial institution.
